Welcome

On behalf of the national organizing committee and in co-operation with the University of Iceland,
the University Hospital of Iceland, Children’s Hospital of Iceland and the Icelandic Association of
Pain, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend the 6th Nordic Congress on Pediatric Pain in
Reykjavik, Iceland, September 5–7, 2012.
The focus will be on how to approach, treat and prevent Pain in Children, its challenges and
solutions. We will have a broad range of presentations and workshops on the state of the art in
the area of child pain and ongoing research and scholarship across disciplines. We hope to
facilitate Inter-Nordic and international dialogue and building of networks to promote evidence
based practice and scholarship in the area of pain in children.
We welcome you to submit your research and scholarly work with oral papers, posters or
workshops to help us make this conference a context of innovation and achievement.
